'We have not been able to lease the space… there hasn’t been a demand'
The City of Winnipeg is seeking a consultant to complete a business case on the costs and benefits of moving hundreds of municipal staff to the long-vacant floors of the office tower adjacent to Winnipeg Police headquarters.
In 2009, the city spent $29 million to buy the Canada Post tower at 266 Graham Ave. and an attached warehouse for the police HQ project. 'Obviously it’s a vote of confidence to jump up to that line'
Winnipeg Jets right-winger Mason Appleton got the call Thursday to fill the opening left by Gabriel Vilardi’s injury, skating alongside top scorers Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor against the Vegas Golden Knights at Canada Life Centre.

'Just giving people a space to talk and heal... is important'
Joel Chasnoff, a standup comedian, author and former member of the Israel Defense Forces, was scheduled weeks ago to perform Sunday night at the Berney Theatre in a lighthearted evening about 21st-century Israel, describing his life as a soldier in one of the world’s most dangerous places.
Instead, he will host the festival’s most timely event, an evening of conversation, stories and reflections about Israel.
