Steeped in Clay is a BFA Thesis Exhibition by Lee Beaton. March 26 to April 4, 2026 at the Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art in Brandon, MB. Located at 2021 Victoria Avenue, Brandon.

Gallery hours are: Tuesday to Saturday, 2 pm to 6 pm Closed Sunday, Monday and Holidays. Opening night, March 26, 7-9 pm and Thursday, April 2, 2-8 pm.

Steeped in Clay 

A Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition by Lee Beaton 

Brandon – IshKaabatens Waasa Gaa Inaabateg Department of Visual Art (Brandon University) presents: Steeped in Clay, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition by Lee Beaton at the Glen P. Sutherland Gallery of Art. The opening reception will be on Thursday, March 26 at 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The exhibition will be on display March 26 to April 4, 2026. Open daily 2:00-6:00pm, Thursday, April 2, 2:00-8:00pm, closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays. Admission is free.  

Steeped in Clay explores how fragmented childhood memories resurface through the meditative process of ceramics, using the teapot as a symbolic vessel to transform personal and shared experiences into narrative objects that invite viewers to reflect on their own memories of place, imagination, and time. 

Lee Beaton is a BFA (Honours) candidate majoring in Ceramics. Located in Portage la Prairie, MB, Beaton has been working towards this degree part-time since 2016.
