Dutch Liberation Day Flag Raising Ceremony

The Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for Ontario and Manitoba, Marjan Schippers, in partnership with the City of Winnipeg, invites you to attend a flag raising ceremony in celebration of the Netherlands’ Liberation Day. May 5th marks the anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War, a victory made possible in large part by the bravery and sacrifice of Canadian troops.

The ceremony will feature remarks delivered by Consul General Schippers and His Worship Scott Gillingham, Mayor of Winnipeg.

We hope you will join us for this moment of remembrance, gratitude, and celebration of the enduring friendship between the Netherlands and Canada.

This event is open to the public and free to attend.
