KUPALO FEST

A unique 3-day multi-cultural celebration of Summer Solstice just east of Duck Mountain. Camp and walk or ride your bike to festival sites throughout Garland (pop. 18). Over a dozen workshops, from weaving, herbalism, permaculture and wildcrafting to Metis jigging and Ukrainian folk dancing, polyphonic singing and folktronica jamming, featuring facilitators from as far away as Argentina, NYC and Montreal. Friday night social with live music from Step by Steppe Kolektyv. Saturday Night DJ Dance Party in the Taras Schevchenko Hall. Fresh hot sourdough bread baked all day in the wood-fired oven in the park, with a Sunday bazaar open to all from 10 til 2 pm. Father’s Day, which starts with a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser with the Ethelbert Volunteer Fire Fighters Sunday morning. All proceeds shared with the Raise the Roof fund and the Ethelbert Volunteer Fire Department.
