Explore Winnipeg’s queer history with Don’s Photo and local cultural historian Britt Bauer during this guided Pride History Walk through Downtown and the Exchange District.
This walking tour will highlight a handful of important locations that have served as gathering places and safe spaces for sexually and gender diverse communities throughout the city’s history. Along the way, attendees will hear stories, historical context, and perspectives that connect Winnipeg’s past and present queer communities.
Britt Bauer is a queer and neurodivergent classics/anthropology PhD student with a special side interest in historical queer relationships and meeting places, bringing a thoughtful and engaging perspective to the tour.
Whether you’re into photography, local history, or simply looking to connect with community, this walk offers a unique opportunity to experience an important part of Winnipeg.
