Singing for Mass Connection

Community Works Manitoba is so pleased to welcome the marvellous Melanie DeMore to lead a 2-day singing workshop called Singing for Mass Connection.
Among her many gifts and accomplishments, Melanie is internationally acclaimed for her work in bringing people together through song. For Melanie, collective singing is an act of political resistance and spiritual necessity. It is the glue that binds us together in compassionate community. Melanie opens up a space where everyone is welcome – all ages, cultures, races, gender identities, members of all faith communities…….She is passionate about crossing all that divides us humans.
IF EVER THERE WAS A TIME TO BRIDGE THE DIVIDES IT IS NOW!
Whether you are an accomplished singer or someone who insists that you are ‘tone deaf’ this workshop will fill your heart and soul. In Melanie’s own words
“Are ya breathin’? Good. That’s the only qualification.”
For those of you with a strong musical background, Melanie’s songs have many layers of rich sound and are rhythmically compelling.
Detailed information about the workshop can be found on our website at https://www.community-works.ca/melaniedemore
We do hope you’ll join Melanie as she leads us in songs of jubilation and songs of sorrow; songs of love and songs of liberation.

Through her inclusive invitation Melanie creates a space of healing and nourishment – a place that everyone can feel connected to themselves and to each other.
In Melanie’s words: “If your voice isn’t there, it’s just a little less sweet. We need your voice. “
Melanie’s workshops are serious stuff, but oh they’re also really fun!
