Country District Manager – Full Time

This role is a unionized position responsible for overseeing the daily product distribution and management for WFP INC, including WFP, Brandon, Carillon, and other 3rd party products. This includes delivery route management, retail management, contractor supervision, and customer service. Successful candidate must ensure optimal performance, service, and quality standards are met within each of these facets. Success in this role requires someone who is a self-starter with strong leadership skills, strong analytical skills, and a talent for problem solving in a fast-paced environment.

Duties Include:

  • Provide customer service and complaint resolutions in a timely manner for rural subscribers, and contractors that serve the company.
  • Hire, train, and manage delivery contractors and agencies according to dept standards.
  • This includes rural carriers/ hawkers/ agents/ distributors/ & motor route drivers.
  • Set up new rural retail sales accounts and manage all receivables and reconciliations.
  • Oversee ongoing geographical changes and profitability analysis to ensure our delivery network remains profitable.
  • Oversee all 3rd party product deliveries outside Winnipeg, including flyer delivery and trucking.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Previous customer service experience required along with a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Previous experience in retail management and accounts receivables an asset.
  • Previous experience in distribution, route management, and GPS mapping an asset
  • Previous sales experience – an asset
  • Able to adjust shifts when necessary to accommodate night training.
  • Exceedingly strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adjust and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically cable of lifting newspaper bundles.
  • Valid Driver’s License required and clear drivers abstract.
