Cold weekend forecast but sunny skies on the way

Here's the good news...it can't last forever.

Three days of cloudy skies are in the forecast, but next week should bring oh-so-welcome sunshine.

Today's forecast calls for light snow finishing this morning, a high of -13C with  a wind chill of -28C.

Five more centimetres of snow is expected to fall starting tonight.

Saturday it's expected the temperature will be -22C, with a wind chill of -33C. There will be blowing snow midday, with northwest winds up to 60 kilometres/hour in the afternoon.

There's a low of -31C called for on Sunday, with a 60 percent chance of flurries.

Sunny skies are expected Monday, with  a low of -32C .

Sunny skies are also in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
