Manitoba, Australian state to co-operate on climate change

WINNIPEG - Manitoba and the state of South Australia have reached agreement to co-operate on climate-change adaption and water management.

The arrangement was announced this morning from the international conference on climate change in Copenhagen. Premier Greg Selinger is leading a Manitoba delegation to the conference.

In a news release, the province said the two sub-national governments will work together to reduce flood hazards, develop strategies to cope with long-term droughts and develop programs to address future climate-change challenges.
