WINNIPEG — More than 100 tablets of Oxycontin and other drugs were taken off the streets this week in a drug raid in the Centennial neighbourhood.

Winnipeg police said its officers were assisting an RCMP drug investigation Wednesday night with a traffic stop at Main Street and Red River Boulevard, where a quantity of drugs and cash were seized and a man and woman arrested.

Winnipeg Police subsequently raided two homes in the 300 block of Elgin Avenue that night, where more drugs were found. Another man was also arrested.

Among the items seized were more than 100 Oxycontin tablets, valued at almost $2,000; 200 Tylenol 3 tablets, worth $400; and some Percocet tablets, worth $480.

Also seized were a quantity of marijuana, some drug trafficking paraphernalia, cash, and gang items.

Garrett Dale Courchene, 43, has been charged with three counts of possessing a substance for the purpose of trafficking; two counts of possessing a controlled substance; and one count of possessing proceeds of crime.

Antonio Nathan Courchene, 25, has been charged with 8 counts of failing to compile with court-imposed conditions; and possessing a substance for the purposes of trafficking.
Both men are being held in custody.

A 32-year-old woman is facing several drug-related charges. She was released on a promise to appear.
