David Stangeland has been appointed associate dean of the University of Manitoba's Asper School of Business. In addition to overseeing undergraduate and MBA programs, and AACSB reporting/reaccreditation, Stangeland will serve as the dean's office contact for other undergraduate activities, including the International Exchange Program, Career Development Centre and Co-operative Education Program.
Wayne Riley has joined Beal Consultants, working with owner-managers of small and medium-sized businesses to help them transition or sell their business. Riley is a facilitator for entrepreneurial businesses, assisting with growth and transition. He has an extensive background in banking and sales management, budget preparation and management control with medium-sized businesses and communities.
Adam Chrobak has joined the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba as registrar/CEO. Chrobak's 20-year career as a medical laboratory technologist and service on the CMLTM council as chairman for the last three years has brought him experience in issues faced as a regulator.

Serafino Falvo Tailors
is celebrating 25 years of business. The family-owned boutique on Corydon Avenue opened in 1985 after Serafino Falvo, who had trained in Rome and worked around the world as a tailor, decided to create his own clothing line designing custom-made clothing.

Suckerpunch Creative
has won an award for the best small booth (10'x10') at the 2010 Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers Convention in Regina held Feb. 9-11. The booth included a looping demo video on a 37-inch HD television, a large backdrop with a three-metre reproduction of the company's logo, and many flavours of logo-branded suckers for visitors. Suckerpunch Creative is a Winnipeg-based branding and communications firm that offers a complete menu of communications services to its clients.
Hemant Shah has received the Distinguished NRI (Non-resident Indian) Award presented by Vishwa Gujarati Samaj, an NGO based out in Ahmedabad, India. The award honours prominent NRIs from Gujarati who exhibit "selfless service to the society at large, exceptional work in their fields and maintain permanent link with the land of their origin -- Gujarat." Shah, deputy director of sales and marketing with Winnipeg equipment manufacturer Cubex, is the first Indo-Canadian to receive the distinction.
