The University of Winnipeg Eco-Kids summer camp is receiving $25,000 thanks to the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation.
The summer camp — the largest day camp for children in the inner-city — will see 1,200 children participate in activities focusing on indigenous science this summer.
“We are grateful for the generosity of the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation,” university president Lloyd Axworthy said in a statement today.
“UWinnipeg is very proud that more than 5,000 children have attended this camp since its inception in 2007. We are committed to maintaining its accessibility and generous partners like the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation help make that commitment possible.”
