A man is in critical condition following an assault in Osborne Village early Thursday morning.
At about 3:45 a.m., a man was badly injured in the vicinity of Osborne Street and Stradbrook Avenue, Const. Jason Michalyshen said. His injuries were sufficiently serious to leave a bloodstain on the sidewalk.
The man is in hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made, Michalyshen said.

Police initially taped off a three-block stretch of Osborne Street sidewalk, from the Green Carrot north of Stradbrook Avenue to 92 CITI FM south of Wardlaw Avenue, to look for clues.
As of 10 a.m., some police tape had been removed, but the Osborne Village Motor Inn remained cordoned off.
Police are looking at “a large area” and not one specific location to determine what transpired, Michalyshen said.
A northbound lane of Osborne Street at Stradbrook remains closed to traffic. This closure caused downtown-bound traffic delays during the morning rush hour.
