Hey there, time traveller!

THE RCMP’s first week of the Christmas Checkstop program caught about half as many impaired drivers as the Mounties pulled over a year ago.
And fatalities were down to none from three.
The RCMP checked vehicles between Dec. 3 and 9 during 69 checkstops, charging 19 people with impaired driving or driving over the .08 legal limit.
Last year, Mounties charged 36 people in the first week, said Sgt. Line Karpish, but police were less active this year because of the cold weather and slippery roads.
Four of the checkstops led to drug charges.
And then there was the 19-year-old pulled over on the Trans-Canada Highway in the RM of North Cypress near Virden — doing 225 km/h in a 100 km/h zone. He’s charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
