Hey there, time traveller!

Bashir Mohamed was dragged away by police after he tried to ask Jason Kenney a question while the immigration minister was making a speech at a fundraising barbecue. Our readers were equal-opportunity bashers on this issue.
Freedom of expression is considered assault? It sounds like the goons who roughed up this teenager should be charged with assault. In other news, Jason Kenney is asking Canadians to thank him for his inhumane treatment of refugees: http://www.jasonkenney.ca/petition/
— Intangible
This was a private event with tickets sold, and the minister was invited to speak to people who wanted to hear him speak. This rude guy with a grudge had no right to crash such a function, and ought to figure out in Canada we prefer some manners and class, and abhor self-absorbed single-issue twits butting in and annoying the attendees. If people really care about his issue, we have online blogs, newspapers both online and in print, and a host of other methods for him to get his point across legally. Crashing a private function is not one of them.

Maybe Bashir should protest that many seniors, after working and paying taxes their whole lives in Canada, go without coverage because of the cost. A senior-citizen couple in Manitoba has to pay $2,670.60 a year for a Manitoba Blue Cross plan that still wouldn’t give them the same pharmaceutical, dental and vision coverage that refugees received for free.
— Al Bertan
Why would he hide his intentions to get in, then wait until Kenney was giving his speech to yell and scream at him? Doesn’t make much sense. This guy isn’t the sharpest pencil in the box. If you don’t like our government or how we run our country, then why do you live here? I generally don’t go to places I don’t like or feel comfortable in. About time to cater to Canadians, instead of the immigrants who come here and steal our jobs. Make them earn things like we all have to.
— New Tracks Daily
Hey guys, I am the individual who was arrested.
Just to get some things clear.
1. My dad passed away when I was 12 and he generalized all refugees as people who just take handouts so that’s why I spoke out.
2. I was speaking at a normal rate while I was reciting my speech. I only started yelling when they were pulling me away.
3. The ENTIRE thing is on video and will be released showing them assaulting me and myself just standing my ground. This is most likely the reason why the charges were dropped.
4. I received my citizenship last year.
5. I am going to the U of A this fall and I have an application in the for the navy reserve so I am a productive member of society.
6. The police were nice guys and commented “What a waste of police resources”
— Bashir Mohamed
Bashir, it looks like you had the whole thing planned, including the removal, the video, the press release to come, etc. BTW, if you had done this at a Liberal or NDP barbecue, the same thing would have happened. You do realize that, don’t you?
— My Opinion3
So the young Bashir, by his own admission, stood up in the middle of Kenney’s speech and started giving his own speech… nice! Bashir should’ve held his own barbecue and passed off his thoughts at his own assembled masses. Of course, he wouldn’t have received any press coverage.

This is why we need Harper’s Internet snooping law.
Clearly national security was breached by having a citizen asking a question and with the new law, Harper’s Zig-Zag crew could have been snooping in his computer and determined he could think. A definite threat to the Harper government.
