Local radio darling talks beauty and body in SANDBOX magazine

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – Bathing suits, lingerie, shirtless men and more — everything you’d expect to find in an issue appropriately titled "The Body Issue." The summer issue of SANDBOX magazine, on stands Friday, features radio darling Chrissy Troy on the cover, with an intimate interview regarding body image, plastic surgery, her small town upbringing and her future life goals.

"When I left the photo shoot, I didn’t want them to touch the makeup or the hair, I just wanted to drive around looking like that all day. I felt unbelievable," says Chrissy Troy of the SANDBOX experience, which took more than six hours, five outfits and a talented team of ten to put together.

The summer edition of Winnipeg’s newest fashion, lifestyle and culture magazine also includes interviews with crooner James Struthers, Gimli girl rockers The Paps, Winnipeg designer Kelli Miller, the stars of the locally-filmed SPACE network television show Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, a titillating Fringe show, summer fashion, couture lingerie and more.

SANDBOX magazine was launched online in November 2009. The premiere print issue (titled "The Glamour Issue") was released in March 2010 and featured Canada’s Next Top Model winner, and Winnipeg girl, Meaghan Waller. SANDBOX can be purchased at McNally Robinson and 20 other various boutiques throughout Osborne Village, the Exchange District and Academy Road. For a full listing visit http://www.sandboxmag.com/.

SANDBOX magazine produces online monthly issues, with quarterly 64-page print editions. The magazine is entirely self-funded through newsstand sales and advertising.
