Nikolaj Ehlers headlines the roster of blue-chip draft picks and roster hopefuls for the Winnipeg Jets’ team heading to the Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic next week.
It will be the Jets’ fourth appearance at the tournament in Penticton, B.C.
The Jets announced their roster this morning.

It includes Ehlers, their 2014 first-round pick, and 2013 first-rounder, defenceman Josh Morrissey.
2015 first-rounders Kyle Connor and Jack Roslovic won’t be participating. The duo, along with numerous other U.S. college players who are prospects, can’t play in the tournament and keep their college eligibility.
At forward, the Jets have named Nic Petan, Ehlers, Jimmy Lodge, Brenden Lemieux, Andrew Copp, Jansen Harkins, Axel Blomqvist, Ryan Olsen, Scott Kosmachuk, Chase De Leo, Michael Spacek, Matteo Gennaro and Jiri Fronk to their team.
On defence, they’ll include Morrissey, Jan Kostalek, Nelson Nogier, Brennan Serville, Peter Stoykewych, Aaron Harstad and Marcus Karlstrom.
The Jets will have Connor Hellebuyck and Eric Comrie — the expected Manitoba Moose tandem this season — in goal.
The Jets have three games at the tournament.
They face the Calgary Flames next Friday at 6 p.m. CT, meet the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. CT, and play the Edmonton Oilers at 1:30 p.m. CT on Monday, Sept. 14.
Winnipeg’s main training camp begins on Sept. 17.
