Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 03/11/2010 (5536 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
The gamer: The Moose looked flat from the opening draw and only got wlaryorse as the game went on. The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead in the second period on a goal from Max Pacioretty, who beat Moose goalie Eddie Lack between the pads. Manitoba’s Cody Hodgson whipped a bullet past Hamilton goalie Curtis Sanford to even the score prior to the third period. Hamilton got the winner early in the third as Mathieu Carle scooped up a rebound and whipped it past Lack. Aaron Palushaj added an empty-netter.
Help not wanted: The Moose will not be taking on veteran NHL tough guy Andrew Peters.
Peters is property of the Vancouver Canucks but had been loaned, along with defenceman Nathan Paetsch, to the Rochester Americans. The two, along with some teammates, broke curfew last week and have been jettisoned by the Amerks.
Paetsch has been loaned to the Syracuse Crunch while Peters remains without a home.
Moose GM Craig Heisinger was asked on Tuesday if Peters would be joining his club and he simply answered, “No.”
Back home: The Moose sent winger Jonas Andersson home to be evaluated by doctors in Winnipeg. Andersson suffered an upper-body injury against the Bulldogs back on Oct. 21 and at first thought he could play through it. The injury, however, has kept him out of the lineup for all four games of the road trip to date and the club has determined further examination is required.
Say hey Sanny: Former Moose goalie Curtis Sanford was in net for the Bulldogs in his first performance of the season. Sanford was injured just prior to the team’s first game of the season when a shot fractured his larynx. Sanford had switched to a new mask and had not transferred his throat guard.
That’s a lot of blue: Copps Coliseum’s lower bowl holds 8,819 but there weren’t many more than 1,000 in the building, leaving a sea of empty blue seats. We’d like to say those in attendance were spirited, but no, it was like a tomb.
