Two-time All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore announces his retirement
2 minute read Thursday, Apr. 2, 2026Two-time All-Pro cornerback and 2019 NFL AP Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore, who last played in 2024, has announced his retirement.
Gilmore issued an Instagram post Thursday that showed video highlights of his career and closed with the message, “The game ends here, but the journey continues.”
“To my first love, Football — As a young, scrappy kid from Rock Hill, South Carolina, with humble beginnings, the eldest of 6 — you gave me focus, opportunity, strength, and friends to last a lifetime,” Gilmore said in the post. “From my first game with Finley Road Falcons to two Super Bowls, multiple Pro Bowls, and a Defensive Player of the Year Award, you taught me the invaluable lesson of working hard and believing in myself.”
Gilmore also thanked his wife and kids “for making it possible for me to chase my dreams” and his parents “for raising me to be the man I am today.”

Joey Browner, 3-time All-Pro defensive back with the Minnesota Vikings, dies at 65
2 minute read Sunday, Mar. 29, 2026EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Joey Browner, a three-time All-Pro defensive back who played nine of his 10 NFL seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, has died, the team said. He was 65.
The Vikings announced Browner's death Sunday and said his family had informed the team. A cause of death was not released.
A native of Warren, Ohio, who played in college at Southern California, Browner was selected by Minnesota with the 19th overall pick in the 1983 NFL draft. It was the first time the Vikings had used a first-round pick on a defensive back.
Blessed with a combination of speed and size for his position — he was 6-foot-2 and 221 pounds — Browner played for the Vikings from 1983-1991 and finished his career with 37 interceptions, the fifth most in franchise history. He also had 18 forced fumbles in 138 games for Minnesota.

Ex-teammate Tim Brown, a Hall of Fame wide receiver, announced Robbins’ death on social media Thursday night. Brown said Marissa Robbins told him her husband died in his sleep overnight.
No cause of death was provided by the team.
“The thoughts and condolences of the entire Raider Nation are with Barret's family and friends during this difficult time,” the team said in a statement.
Ravens sign center Danny Pinter, who spent 5 seasons with the Colts

The team announced the move Thursday. The 29-year-old Pinter has played all five of his NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts.
Pinter has played 77 games in his NFL career, making 10 starts. The Ravens have an opening at center after star Tyler Linderbaum left in free agency for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Falcons hire assistant general manager Jeff Scott from Eagles to join revamped front office
2 minute read Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2026FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons hired Jeff Scott from the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday to join the revamped front office as assistant general manager.
The Falcons reworked their leadership team in the offseason, hiring Ian Cunningham as general manager, Matt Ryan as president of football and Kevin Stefanski as coach.
Scott worked the past five seasons with the Eagles, including the past two as vice president of football operations. Cunningham worked with the Eagles from 2017-21.
“First and foremost, this is a relationship business," Cunningham said in a statement. "I want to thank Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles for granting permission to allow Jeff the opportunity to take on this role and advance his career.”
