HAMILTON — Just when it seemed Winnipeg vs. Hamilton was getting a little old, Tiger-Cat Arland Bruce III provides a juicy storyline to track over the next few days.

Bruce III was brilliant in Saturday’s 29-22 victory over the Bombers, but also called out the Winnipeg secondary after pulling in 11 passes for 197 yards and a TD.

So circle Friday’s rematch in Winnipeg on your calendar, sports fans.

“It feels good to get a victory, especially against an East Division opponent,” Bruce III told reporters after the game. “There was a little hostility out there, but we get to play them next week in their house, so it feels good to get the win.

“They played dirty on me a little bit. A couple times they had a couple guys trying to get a little extra hit on me coming across the middle, man, trying to take me out of the game, but you know what? I expect that. I’m looking forward to it next week. I’m going to get my big-boy pads out next week.

“A couple of them got aggressive and played dirty. I don’t play dirty, but I guess you got to do whatever you got to do to stop a guy.”

MEDLOCK OR NOT? Former Argo placekicker Justin Medlock continues to have his name mentioned as a candidate to push Alexis Serna, but word is he’s waiting for an NFL opportunity. Medlock made 40 of his 46 field goals last year — a sparking 87 per cent — and parlayed that into tryouts with the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions.
