RAMA, Ont. – A Toronto-area man says he always felt he was meant to win a big jackpot.
And, he did just that, collecting a fast $1.7 million at Casino Rama after wagering just $20 on a Mega Bucks progressive slot machine.
The man, who is in his 40s and did not want his name disclosed, won the jackpot Wednesday afternoon after playing for a short period of time.
Officials at the casino north of Toronto say the man told staff it was just his third time playing the slot machine.
He said he has no immediate plans for the money.
This was the fifth time the MegaBucks jackpot has been won at Casino Rama _ the last time was on March 23, 2008, when a Toronto woman won $9 million to set a Canadian slot jackpot record.
