CALGARY — A former oil executive admitted he stole almost $350,000 from a Calgary firm as a down payment on a home.

Benjamin Daniel Koorbatoff, former CEO of Brink Energy Ltd., pleaded guilty to fraud. Koorbatoff is also the former president and CEO of Koors Oil and Gas Ltd. in Red Deer county.

Koorbatoff admitted he used two bank drafts in October 2007 to withdraw money from a Brink Energy account. He then deposited the cash with a Red Deer law firm.

He also admitted using company cash to purchase a 1969 Chevy Camero.
