The Bombers vs. Rogers Centre

Today’s game marks the Argos home-opener. That would usually mean a full house and a lot of buzz but this is Toronto, and the CFL club tends to get a little lost in the area.

With only half of cavernous Rogers Centre full for the game and the noise absorbed by the empty reaches near the roof, players sometimes feel like they’re on an island.

A quiet building provides a strange experience, one that could cause some mistakes on the field.

“It is tough; you need to stay focused and stay mentally tough with that,” Bombers QB Buck Pierce said. “Even when it’s loud, it doesn’t really feel loud.”
