Winnipeg Police have taken several people into custody following a trio of fires early this morning.

Firefighters were called to the Assiniboine Golf Course in the 2000 block of Ness Avenue shortly after 3:30 a.m. after a number of golf carts in a fenced area were set on fire.

Shortly after that blaze was extinguished, another call came in about a pair of fires just a few blocks away on Winchester Street. A garage and a parked vehicle were on fire but the flames were quickly put out.

No charges have been laid. Damage at the golf course is estimated at about $130,000.

The arson strike force is investigating.
