LINDSBORG, Kan. — Bethany College golfers will now miss only one tournament this fall as punishment for posing nude for a team picture.
Coach Jon Daniels told the Salina Journal Saturday the penalty was reduced from three meets to one, but the central Kansas college’s players must fulfil other stipulations.
The team got into trouble when 14 members stood in a line with their shorts at their ankles and their gof clubs placed strategically for an unofficial team photo. One of the players posted it on his Facebook page.
Daniels says players who mess up during the year will be suspended from a second tournament. Team members must write a letter of apology and do a presentation about the perils of social media.
