A man and a woman face charges after a police chase on Monday involving a stolen vehicle.
The chase started in Fort Rouge, was briefly aborted for safety, and then started again before the stolen vehicle slammed into a hydro pole and hit two parked cars on Balmoral Street near the legislative buildings.
The vehicle had been stolen in the early morning hours Sunday during a break-in at a home in the 500 block of Ingersoll Street in the West End. Thieves made their getaway in a RAV4 stolen from the residence.

Monday afternoon, police were called to another break-in, in the 400 block of Walker Avenue where electronics and jewellery were stolen from a house. The thieves fled in the stolen vehicle, police reported.
A short time later, shortly after 2 p.m., officers spotted the vehicle in the area of Osborne Street and Mulvey Avenue and chased it through Crescentwood. The stolen vehicle struck a cruiser and another car, forcing police to abort the pursuit in the area of Wellington Crescent.
Shortly after, the vehicle was seen again, racing through the area of Westminster Avenue and Furby Street. Police resumed the pursuit which ended in the 200 block of Balmoral St. when the RAV4 hit a hydro pole and damaged two parked cars.
A man and a woman were arrested at the scene.
David George Draginda, 29, and Lisa Anne McNeilly, 25, both faces charges in connect with the incident.
