Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 25/10/2011 (5127 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
It’s a rumour no longer.
Selena Gomez did adopt a puppy during her visit to D’Arcy’s ARC last week.
“She’s the biggest celebrity we’ve had in here to make an adoption,” D’Arcy Johnston, owner of the no-kill pet rescue facility, said.
Gomez and Justin Bieber set local teen hearts aflutter for several days last week, as the young couple were prominently seen around the city — a Jets game, a stroll at The Forks, a private dinner aboard the Nonsuch at the Manitoba Museum — before her concert.
The couple also visited D’Arcy’s ARC on Friday, where it was believed she adopted a puppy — Gomez already has five other dogs, all pet-rescue pups — but D’Arcy’s people were sworn to secrecy.
But by Monday, photos of a smiling Gomez holding her new pup — Baylor, a 10-week-old Husky cross — could be found everywhere on the Web, including a feature story in People.com.
Baylor is accompanying Gomez on the rest of her cross-Canada tour.
Johnston said he was flattered that Gomez and Bieber chose his facility for the visit, adding it’s gratifying to know that theirs is the top-of-mind shelter in Winnipeg.
