Hey there, time traveller!

Former Manitoba Moose regular Jason Jaffray and defenceman Arturs Kulda have been recalled by the Winnipeg Jets today.
The Free Press reported early this morning that the pair had been summoned from the Jets’ AHL farm team in St. John’s and are likely participants in Monday night’s home game at the MTS Centre against the Tampa Bay Lightning (7:30 p.m., CT, TSN Jets, 1290).
The Jets returned to Winnipeg late Saturday night after a 2-1 loss in Columbus. They have gained just two points from their last five games.

Jaffray, the captain in St. John’s this season, scored three goals in the 8-4 home win by St. John’s over Connecticut on Saturday night. The 30-year-old has seven goals in 15 AHL games this season.
The Jets have just three goals in their last two games, both losses.
Kulda’s services will likely be required because defenceman Paul Postma, who played his third game of the season on Saturday night, will be away from the team for a few days because of a death in the family. Postma has been re-assigned to St. John’s.
Kulda has six points and is a plus-nine in 13 AHL games so far.
The Jets will be able to make both recalls today without any serious roster juggling because they had only 21 active players for Saturday’s game in Columbus. NHL teams are permitted a 23-man roster.

The team also announced today that defenceman Derek Meech, signed in the off-season as a free agent, has undergone surgery for a suspected knee injury. The team says he’ll be out a further six to eight weeks.
