About the Jets
Won in Carolina Friday night, getting to .500 at 9-9-4…Tonight ends a three-game road trip which will put the Jets to 15 road games, most in the NHL so far… That’s all about to change — the Jets have 13 of their next 15 games at the MTS Centre through Dec. 31… D Ron Hainsey’s return from a 16-game injury absence suffered a setback on Friday night as Hainsey wasn’t able to go. He played more than 23 minutes in Washington on Wednesday…The Jets still have five defencemen on the injured list, Hainsey, Randy Jones, Derek Meech, Brett Festerling and Tobias Enstrom… G Chris Mason made his first start Friday night since being hurt Oct. 27. Expect the Jets to go back to No. 1 keeper Ondrej Pavelec tonight. Pavelec started 13 straight games before Friday’s night off.
About the Bruins
The Bruins rallied to tie the Detroit Red Wings in Friday afternoon’s third period but saw their 10-game winning streak come to an end as Detroit’s Todd Bertuzzi scored the deciding goal in the shootout… Boston, after a poor start of 3-7-0, is 13-7-1 through 21 games… Bruins C Tyler Seguin was held pointless on Friday but is the B’s leading scorer with 11 goals and 23 points so far. He is also the NHL’s plus-minus leader at plus-18… Impressively, Seguin hasn’t had a minus-game this season…The teams will meet again Dec. 6 in Winnipeg.
