About the Jets

Winnipeg is 4-4-2 in its last 10 and had a three-game winning streak at the MTS Centre snapped in Tuesday’s 6-4 loss to Ottawa… The Jets power-play unit is ranked 11th overall, but second-best at home… Captain Andrew Ladd was an iffy minus-4 in the loss to the Sens… Evander Kane has taken over the team scoring lead with 12 goals and six assists. He now has goals in three straight games after popping two against Ottawa and his 12 goals puts him among the NHL leaders behind Phil Kessel (16), Steven Stamkos (15), Milan Michalek and James Neal (14) and Jonathan Toews and Claude Giroux (13)… Kyle Wellwood is seventh in the NHL in shooting percentage (21.9), having scored seven goals on 32 shots.

About the Coyotes

Phoenix is 13-7-3 after a 4-1 victory over Chicago at the United Center, for the team’s first back-to-back victories since the middle of November… The Coyotes are 11-1-3 in games in which they score first… Radim Vrbata had a goal and an assist in the win over the Hawks and is now tied for the Coyotes’ scoring lead with Ray Whitney. Vrbata has 12 goals and nine assists; Whitney has eight goals and 13 helpers. Three of Vrbata’s goals have been game-winners… New Coyotes’ netminder Mike Smith has been fantastic, posting a 12-4-3 record and sports a .935 save percentage that is among the NHL leaders… Kyle Turris, who recently ended his holdout with the team, is on the trip with the Coyotes but did not dress in Chicago.
