About the Jets
Have picked up points in five consecutive games (4-0-1), the only blemish the OT loss to the Flyers earlier this week.. The game against the Blues will be the fifth of this eight-game homestand which will include visits by Edmonton, Florida and Buffalo… The Jets goal initially credited to Evander Kane and later switched to Andrew Ladd late Thursday was switched back again to Kane on Friday morning. It means he has moved into eighth place in career franchise goals with 57 — one better than Ray Ferraro… Dustin Byfuglien had a goal and assist against Tampa and now has 13 points (4G, 9A) in his last eight games… Heading into Friday’s action Winnipeg had the top-rated power-play at home with a 24.3 per cent success rate. Overall it is ranked ninth.
About the Blues
Coming off a 3-2 shootout win in Nashville and 7-3 in their last 10. Now trail Detroit by four points in the Central Division with a game in hand… Will be without Alex Steen (concussion). He hasn’t played since Dec. 27, but is on the trip with the Blues… As good as the Blues are, they are just 11-13-3 on the road… Blues are led by centre David Backes (17G, 25A); five of his goals have come on the power play and four have been game winners… St. Louis has the NHL’s best goals against average (1.89) and both Jaroslav Halak (.923) and Brian Elliott (.937) have posted sparkling numbers.
