Expect Saturday rush when Rush tickets on sale

Expect a rush at Ticketmaster Saturday when tickets for Rush’s Winnipeg show go on sale.

As previously announced, the veteran Toronto prog-rockers will play the MTS Centre on Sept. 26 in support of their forthcoming album, Clockwork Angels. Tickets will go on sale Saturday for $42.25 to $131 at Ticketmaster.

It will be the band’s first visit to the city since 2008 when Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart brought their Snakes & Arrows tour to town for their first concert here since 1982. Clockwork Angels will be released June 12. It is the band’s 20th studio album.

Slash brings love to Winnipeg on July 21

 Slash is going to bring some love to Winnipeg this summer.

The former Guns N’ Roses guitarist will return to the Burton Cummings Theatre on July 21 in support of his forthcoming solo album, Apocalyptic Love. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday for $43.50 and $58 at Ticketmaster.

The top hat-wearing guitarist recorded his new album with his band the Conspirators, which features Winnipegger Brent Fitz on drums and Alter Bridge vocalist Myles Kennedy.

 

k.d. lang returns to city Sept. 14 at Pantages

k.d. lang is going to sing it out loud at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre in September.

The Canadian songstress and her band the Siss Boom Bang will play the Pantages on Sept. 14 in support of last year’s Sing It Loud. Tickets go on sale Friday for $59.50 to $89.50 (plus service fees) at Ticketmaster.

It will be the second time lang and her band have been here in a little more than a year: they performed at the Winnipeg Folk Festival last summer.
