RCMP report several collisions on slippery roads around the city this morning and other incidents where poor judgment sent vehicles into ditches.

An eight-vehicle collision on the Red River Bridge closed all westbound traffic on the South Perimeter. There were no significant injuries.

A vehicle towing a camper trailer overturned on Highway 59 and the South Perimeter, sending the driver to hospital as a precaution.

A semi is in the ditch near Deacon’s Corner.

Earlier this morning, two people were sent to hospital following separate incidents on the South Perimeter and St. Mary’s Road, and Lagimodiere and the North Perimeter.

“The storm is behind us but road conditions remain hazardous,” RCMP Cpl. Miles Hiebert said.

“I don’t know how many times we need to say this but motorists need to exercise extreme caution. Roads remain icy and slippery.”
