A new Honourary Consul of the Republic of Poland will be officially appointed in Winnipeg on Tuesday.
The new Honorary Consul, Dr. Włodzimierz Czarnecki, will be bestowed with his function by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Canada, Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz. The ceremony will also be attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto, Grzegorz Morawski.
The ambassador, during his visit in Winnipeg, will be announced in front of the Manitoba legislative assembly at 1.30 p.m. An official ceremony with a wine and cheese buffet will take place in the Oak Room of the Manitoba Club, 194 Broadway, Winnipeg, at 2 p.m. At 3.30 p.m., an open house event will follow at 219 Marion St., Winnipeg, during which the public will be able to visit the new Honourary Consular Offices.
Polish officials said that they are very pleased to expand Poland’s diplomatic presence in Canada by establishing a permanent position in Manitoba. The Honourary Consul will be responsible for the promotion of Poland across the Province of Manitoba, co-operation with the local Polish community and, in general, represent the Republic’s interest in that part of Canada.
