Tickets are $20 plus fees at Ticketmaster.

All funds raised will go to the Canadian Red Cross relief efforts. The Canadian government will match funds raised.

Those Guys, Tiffany Ponce, The Treble and Flo are among the other musicians slated to perform, with more to be announced.

“I felt an overwhelming need that Winnipeggers were capable of doing more for the Philippines,” organizer Ron Cantiveros of the Filipino Journal is quoted as saying in a release. “I’m truly blessed and overwhelmed by everyone that stepped up to be part of this amazing concert. It’s shaping up to be a beautiful night where we’re all there for a single cause.”

Winnipeg teacher disciplined for ‘liking’ student’s post

A Winnipeg teacher has been reprimanded for accidentally clicking ‘like’ on a student’s year-old social media post during a late-night scroll.

A recent investigation by Manitoba’s independent teacher commissioner found Jordan Nelson, a hockey coach in the Pembina Trails School Division, engaged in professional misconduct by viewing online profiles of students who were following a team account he was managing on behalf of his school.

“Using information associated with the school’s hockey team account to access and review a student’s social media account, without any legitimate educational or workplace purpose, was inappropriate and inconsistent with the professional boundaries expected of a teacher,” commissioner Noni Classen wrote.

A five-page report, better known as a consent resolution agreement, details agreed-upon facts about an October 2025 incident and subsequent disciplinary action.

Kevin Takatch was getting groceries in Los Angeles when he stumbled into an art sale celebrating 25 years of Jackass.

The Winnipeg designer behind BeLove suddenly found himself surrounded by famous faces, carrying one of his own jackets and wondering who he could get to wear it.

Then he spotted comedian Eric André, who appears as himself in the reality stunt/prank franchise, and asked him to model the jacket.

“I knew I couldn’t (wimp) out, like I did with the first celebrity I saw,” says Takatch, who declined to give his age.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Time, after all, is a circle.

For Ryan Boldt, singer and principal songwriter for the long-running, award-winning Canadian folk-rock outfit the Deep Dark Woods, that circle remains unbroken.

“I’ve been playing in bands and going on tour for over half my life now,” Boldt says with a laugh. “It’s really bizarre to think about.”

Founded in Saskatoon in 2005, the Deep Dark Woods has released seven albums of original music, along with two followup volumes to Boldt’s Broadside Ballads series of traditional folk songs.
