Hang in there for just a couple more days, Winnipeg.
That’s the word from Environment Canada, which is forecasting a much-needed break from the deep freeze later this week.
Today, though, will see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -24 C. The wind chill value will hover around the -39 mark. There’s also a slight chance of flurries this morning. Tonight, look for clear skies and a low of -31 C.
Expect similar cold conditions on Wednesday before things start to turn. Environment Canada is calling for a 40 per cent chance of flurries and a high of -10 C Thursday and a high of -3 C for Friday.
The normal high for this time of year is -13 C.
