үӯ FUGETABOUTIT:
Coyotes goalie Mike Smith had one of his more forgettable nights. He gave up five goals on 38 shots, not great, but he also had three of Phoenix’s seven recorded giveaways in the game, two leading directly to Jets goals. The Team Canada netminder fell to 15-12-8 with the defeat.
үӯ RED-LIGHT RELIEF:
Devin Setoguchi hadn’t scored since Dec. 2 at Madison Square Garden. He snapped that 18-game slump Monday night with a power-play laser, his eighth goal of the season. “I mean, it’s one game,” he said later. “But I think we can definitely take a lot of positive out of the game and not just the goals. I think everyone’s work ethic was there and that’s what gave us a chance to win the game.”
үӯ A HELPFUL GIFT:
The undisciplined Coyotes, who have now lost five of the last six, certainly aided the struggling Jets, handing the home team eight power plays (to only two for Phoenix) and 14 minutes 27 seconds of advantage time.
