It was just last week when Blue Rodeo entertained thousands of their faithful Winnipeg fans at the MTS Centre.
Now, the Canadian roots-rock legends are providing another musical gift to their fans — this time via the Internet; specifically, the Free Press website.
A live screening of a Blue Rodeo short film called It’s In Our Nature To Fly will be available here online on Jan. 31.
The film, directed by Juno Award-winner Christopher Mills, mashes up two Blue Rodeo songs, Mattawa and New Morning Sun, from their latest album In Our Nature.
“When asked to do a video mash up of two Blue Rodeo songs, (Mills) came back with an 18-minute opus — part narrative, part abstract and all beautiful to look at,” Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy said in a release.
“The video rewards multiple viewings. A truly wonderful piece of work.”
The live screening begins at 11 a.m. Friday. If you miss the live screening, a player with a YouTube video of the film will appear in its place as soon as its available.
