Sunday at The Forks is going to look, smell and taste better than ever, starting this weekend.
The first full outdoor Farmer’s Market will be launched this Sunday at 11 a.m.-4 p.m. in the parking lot in front of The Forks Market.
There will be 28 vendors selling local products from across the province such as baked goods, meats, eggs, preserves, produce, plants and crafts.
“Our philosophy at The Forks has always been to keep it local. We’re extending that to our outdoors Farmer’s Market this year in a big way,” Paul Jordan, The Forks’ chief operating officer said in a media release. “For the first time we’ve sourced and will be welcoming over two dozen local farmers, brewers, artisans and bakers in one big parking lot in front of The Forks Market.”
The Farmer’s Market will run rain or shine each Sunday, with the exception of Sept. 21, until October.

“If this is successful, we would happily add the rest of the parking lot, which is what it was intended to be when we opened 25 years ago. We could go up to as many as 50 vendors,” says Jordan. “But for this year we want to start small and get it right.”
