ABOUT THE PREDATORS
Peter Laviolette is the new head coach of the Predators, taking over a job that was previously only held by one man, Manitoba product Barry Trotz.
The Preds feature several new faces this season, among them former Jets centre Olli Jokinen. Jokinen, at 35, is the oldest skater on the club’s current roster but he will be the second-oldest when Matt Cullen, 37, comes off the IR.
Through three games, you’ll find a couple of mild surprises leading the Preds’ scoring list. Winger Eric Nystrom and centre Paul Guastad join rookie Filip Forsberg atop the list, each with four points in three games.

It’s just a two-game trip for Nashville here tonight and Saturday in Chicago. The team then returns home for three more, making six of the first eight at home. After that, it’s off on a lengthy six-game trip that will bring the Preds back to Winnipeg on Nov. 4.
