The new city councillor for Charleswood-Tuxedo has formally been sworn in.
Coun. Marty Morantz could not attend Tuesday’s inaugural meeting of council, where all other members were sworn in, due to the death of his father, Saul.
Morantz, who succeeds former councillor Paula Havixbeck, has been appointed to executive policy committee and will serve as council’s finance chairman.
Mayor Brian Bowman, also a rookie, joked Morantz has a lot of work to do.
Morantz is an Osgoode Hall-educated lawyer and real-estate investment company owner.
