There were no injuries earlier today when a freight train collided with a semi-trailer truck at a railroad crossing in La Salle.
A spokeswoman for the Canadian Pacific Railway said the incident occurred at about 11:45 a.m. at a crossing that was equipped with a stop sign for vehicle traffic.
“A freight train made contact with a semi-truck at a crossing in La Salle, Manitoba resulting in one locomotive coming off the tracks but remaining upright,” the spokeswoman said in a telephone interview.
She said there were no injuries to the CP crew involved in the incident or the driver of the vehicle.
CP police are investigating the incident.
