MOOSE JAW, Sask. — After surviving an electrifying Monday night match, Jennifer Jones had a lighter load to carry Tuesday at the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

On Tuesday afternoon, the midway mark of the Canadian women’s curling championship round robin, Jones and her Team Manitoba cruised 9-3 past Quebec’s Lauren Mann (1-5), playing through the requisite eight ends.

Really, the game was over not too long after it began. After Jones opened with one point in the first end, the teams traded singles; Jones would steal a deuce in four and run away with a whopping four-end steal in the fifth end to put the game out of reach even before the break.

The win stretched Jones’ unbeaten streak to six games. The tightest of those, and by far the most entertaining, was her magnificent Monday night battle against two-time defending Canadian champion Rachel Homan, which Jones won 8-7 in an extra end.

Team Manitoba’s schedule continues with two games on Wednesday, including a 9 a.m. tilt against Nova Scotia and a 7 p.m. game against New Brunswick.

On Thursday, Jones will take on Prince Edward Island in the morning and Northern Ontario’s Tracy Horgan in the afternoon. She’ll wrap up the round robin with a 9 a.m. Friday morning battle against Alberta’s Val Sweeting, who was the only other undefeated skip in the tournament as of Tuesday afternoon.
