MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Jennifer Jones is a lock for the top page playoff game of the Scotties, thanks to two wins Thursday and a little help.

Jones will carry a 9-1 record into the last round robin game of Scotties on Friday morning, after clipping off two wins on the penultimate day of the round robin. But she already knows she’s locked into Friday night’s 1 vs. 2 page playoff game.

Jones and her Team Manitoba foursome comfortably beat Northern Ontario’s Tracy Horgan 6-3 in nine ends of the afternoon draw.

Combined with the morning win over Team P.E.I., that brings Manitoba’s record up to 9-1 on the week.

Jones has one last test. On Friday morning, she will face Alberta’s Val Sweeting in their final game of the round robin. Sweeting is the last undefeated skip in the tournament, after beating Team Canada’s Rachel Homan in a thrilling 7-6 last-shot win.

That drops Homan down to 6-3 on the week, unable to catch Jones to battle for one of the top two spots.
