MOON ALERT Avoid shopping or big decisions after 1 p.m. The moon is in Aquarius.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)

Good news! In the month ahead, you might boost your earnings or encounter favourable financial negotiations. You might also purchase beautiful items for yourself and loved ones. Things are looking up in terms of money and cash flow.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Fair Venus enters your sign to stay until mid April. This makes you charming, diplomatic and more attractive to others. It also makes you like what you see in the mirror, which means the next few weeks are the perfect time to shop for wardrobe goodies.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

Your increased popularity could lead to a secret love affair, but it also could make you want to seek out solitude so you can catch your breath. After all, you can’t be all things to all people all the time.

CANCER (June 21-July 22)

Relations with others will become more friendly and cosy. In fact, a friend could become a lover. Listen to the feedback of others because their advice will give you an advantage or a chance to earn more or buy something pretty.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)

Relations with someone in authority will improve beautifully in the next four weeks. Knowing this now, make use of this situation and demand the advantage. Ask bosses and people in authority for what you want because they are biased in your favour now.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Travel for pleasure will appeal in the month ahead. Grab every opportunity to watch those telephone poles going by. If not, get thee to an airport. You will also enjoy studying new topics and seeing museums, art galleries, parks and beautiful places.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Keep your pockets open because gifts and goodies could come your way. This is a good time to discuss insurance matters, inheritances, taxes, debt and financial disputes because you’ll come out smelling like a rose. Or perhaps you prefer Coco?

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Venus moves opposite your sign where it will stay until mid April. This tells me that your closest relationships will improve. This applies to intimate and professional partnerships. Therefore, now is the time to ask for assistance from others.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

It will please you to make your workspace more attractive in the next few weeks. You can also improve your relations with co-workers, customers and clients because Venus will help you. Some of you will get a raise, and all of you will certainly get praise. (Words are cheap.)

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Romance, love affairs, vacations and playful escapes are on the menu for the next four weeks. Make plans to socialize with others. Book a long lunch or a fun getaway. Enjoy sports events and playful activities with children.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

It will please you to redecorate or do something to improve your home in the next few weeks. Many of you will buy something attractive, perhaps art. The next month is also an excellent time to explore real-estate opportunities, as well as enhance family bonds.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)

Lucky you! In the month ahead, you will notice more beauty in your daily surroundings. Not only that, you will also be surprised to discover just how much love there is in your world. Gosh, golly, gee.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY

Actor Kurt Russell (1951) shares your birthday. You like to be inspired by a meaningful cause. You are creative and expressive and capable of adapting to a new situation; in fact, you are attracted to anything new and fresh. This is one reason you will love this year because it is the beginning of a fresh, new nine-year cycle for you. Open any door! Start a new business activity.

Edmonton not the same old Elks as Bombers get ready for road clash

Taylor Allen 7 minute read Yesterday at 7:04 PM CDT

Edmonton’s CFL team has been a complete, utter mess for the majority of the past decade.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers took full advantage of their once-prominent West Division foe falling on hard times by shellacking them time and time again.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

The Blue and Gold defeated the Elks three times in a span of five weeks in 2021 — including a 30-3 beatdown on Chancellor Matheson Road on Oct. 8.

Elevate things between you by breaking ice

Maureen Scurfield 5 minute read Yesterday at 2:00 AM CDT

DEAR MISS LONELYHEARTS: I work in a high rise downtown and every day I come to work at the same time. I often ride the elevator up with this new guy working a few floors under me. I always feel a little disappointed when he has to get off, and I continue up into the sky.

I’ve worked my way up to speaking pleasantries about the weather, and he responds with cute remarks about the clouds. The good news? He’s not wearing a ring. I also found out his first name from hearing other people say hello to him. Now what?

— Feeling Frustrated! Downtown

Dear Frustrated: Next time you’re on the elevator ride together, say “Hi! My name is such-and-such and I work at such-and-such. Where do you work up here in the clouds?” That should make him smile and break the ice. Then you could consider asking if he might like to join you for a coffee on a work break, if you can co-ordinate it.

Pre-owned sets seller Romo’s Bricks seeks to click with Winnipeg’s Lego community

Aaron Epp 4 minute read Yesterday at 8:17 PM CDT

There’s no mortar in sight but there are certainly thousands of bricks at a new brick-and-mortar store in Winnipeg catering to Lego enthusiasts.

Ashton Romaniuk and Madison Froome opened Romo’s Bricks in late spring. Located at 955 Milt Stegall Dr., in the same building as CanCentral Sports Cards & Memorabilia, the store specializes in selling pre-owned Lego sets, minifigures and other Lego-related products.

“It’s something we’re both passionate about,” Froome said.

To stock the store, she and Romaniuk spent $50,000 on four large Lego collections, purchased from local collectors. Romaniuk estimates that since the store opened on June 2, inventory has grown to $250,000 worth of Lego.
