ABOUT THE SHARKS It's getting close to must-win time for the Sharks, who enter tonight's game against the Jets with a 34-27-8 record -- four back of Winnipeg. San Jose is just 5-5 in its last 10 games, but sports an impressive 11-5-1 mark against the Central Division. San Jose is still reeling from a horrible February, in which the club went 3-8-2. The Sharks' penalty-kill unit is ranked 24th in the NHL at 79.5 per cent; their power play, by contrast, is fifth best in the league. Joe Pavelski leads the Sharks with 32 goals, 17 of which have come with the man advantage. The Sharks are coming off a 6-2 loss to Chicago on Saturday and open a seven-game road trip against the Jets. San Jose has won both games against Winnipeg this season, 3-0 back on Oct. 11 in California and 3-2 on Jan. 5 here in Manitoba. The Sharks are 305-157-65 under head coach Todd McLellan since 2008-'09 and San Jose's 64.0 winning percentage is the third-best in the league over that span, behind only Chicago (65.2) and Pittsburgh (64.8).
