ABOUT THE BLUES

The Blues come to Winnipeg for the second time in three weeks, having shut out the Calgary Flames 4-0 in Calgary on Tuesday. That result came after two goals from the stick of C Alex Steen and a 25-save shutout from G Brian Elliott.

The win helped the Blues pass the Nashville Predators and tie the Anaheim Ducks for top spot in the Western Conference, though the Ducks were playing late Wednesday night. The win was also Elliiott’s 21st career shutout with the Blues, giving him the all-time franchise lead. St. Louis hasn’t given up a goal in the last 126:16.

The Blues have been a tough opponent when they get the first goal, now 32-6-2 this season.

After starting with two wins, the team’s six-game road trip hits No. 3 tonight. There are also stops in Minnesota, Detroit and Pittsburgh.

The Blues have won all three games against the Jets this season, 4-2, 2-1 in a shootout and 5-4.
