Winnipeg police continue to investigate a serious assault near the CityPlace parkade in the downtown area early this morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. A passing police cruiser was flagged down and alerted to an injured woman. She was suffering from serious injuries and was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Police had Hargrave Street between St. Mary Avenue and Graham Avenue closed off to traffic and pedestrians earlier today but traffic is now flowing freely.

Police tape still up around the crime scene.
No arrests have been made.
Members of the homicide unit are currently investigating.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477(TIPS) or investigators at 204-986-6508.
