Hey there, time traveller!

You can take a tasty trip down the new food-truck alley at The Forks this summer.
From Friday, food trucks will be allowed to park and peddle their wares on Israel Asper Way between the Canadian Museum for Human Rights and The Forks Market.
Four trucks at a time will park in designated spaces along both sides of the road. Ten food trucks have been pre-selected and licensed by The Forks.
Only these will be serving food along food-truck alley.
“It’s a great idea, and it’s going to be great exposure for some of the food trucks, seeing as Broadway is getting fairly filled up the last couple of years,” said Anthony Faraci, owner of Faraci Foods and the Bannock Factory food truck.
“It’s a neat idea they have in mind to open this up at The Forks.”
Faraci said his family has been operating The Bannock Factory for several years, selling products such as Bannock in a Box.
“This will be our first season with the food truck, so we’re fairly new,” Faraci said. “We’ll be offering different bannock-related items.”
He’s hoping his truck will be at The Forks three times per week as part of the 10-truck rotation.
“The Poutine King is always open to new opportunities, and there’s always so many people at The Forks, so this is going to be a great opportunity for food trucks,” said Derek Collins, owner of the Poutine King. “It’s also going to be a great opportunity for people going to The Forks to come and try the food.”
Food will be served out of the trucks daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from May 1 to Sept. 30. The food trucks will be located along Israel Asper Way from Arrival Circle to Forks Market Road.
Making their debut on food-truck alley on Friday will be Poutine King, Iggy’s Family Doener, the Bannock Factory and Healthy Eats.
Andrea Clow, The Forks’ manager of leasing and development, said the alley will offer diverse choices in addition to the food offered in The Forks Market and the Johnson Terminal.
