Fourteen athletes and nine coaches from Manitoba will be competing at next month’s Pan Am Games in Toronto.

The Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba today officially announced the list of Manitoba athletes named to Team Canada for both the 2015 Pan American and the Parapan American Games.

They are: Jason Lyon (archery), Isabela Onyshko (artistic gymnastics), Nicole Sifuentes (athletics), Erin Teschuck, (athletics), Taylor Pischke (beach volleyball), Jennifer Saunders (racquetball), Monica Fyfe (shooting), Chantal VanLandeghem (swimming), Tyler Mislawchuk (triathlon), Lisa Barclay (senior women’s volleyball team), Tabitha Love (senior women’s volleyball team), Toontje Van Lankvelt (volleyball, men’s team), Dustin Schneider (volleyball, men’s team) and Shae Fournier (water polo).

Meanwhile, there could be three more Manitobans competing.

Colin Mathieson is listed as hopeful, but not confirmed, to compete in para-athletics in the Parapan Am Games held from Aug. 10 to 14.

Mathieson has competed in four Paralympic Games, winning a bronze medal as part of the 4×400 relay team in 1996, as well as numerous other competitions around the world.

As well, Marie Josee Aires Pilon (weightlifting) and Daryl Conrad (weightlifting) are also listed as hopeful, but not confirmed, for the Pan Am Games.

The coaches are Lorie Henderson (artistic gymnastics), Derek Ingram (golf), Larry McKay (men’s volleyball team), Michele Hinze and Bill Johnson (women’s wheelchair basketball team), and Arnd Ludwig, Ryan Ratushniak, Shane Smith, and Mandy Los (women’s volleyball team).
